1. Eighteen Participants Successfully Completed a Two-Month Training Course on the Global Seismological Observation

The Closing Ceremony of the Global Seismological Observation Training Course which
started on January 17 was held in BRI on Friday, March 10, 2017.

3. On the history of the program "Global Seismological Observation" over 20 years

Mar. 10, 2017 IISEE held the closing ceremony of the program “Global Seismological
Observation” that was its 22th round. From 1995 this two months’ program has been
held every year and contributed the dissemination of the seismological observation
technology, especially for distant earthquakes together with the discrimination
technique for nuclear test ban.

4. Microtremor Survey in Kathmandu Valley, Nepal

Director Yokoi and I visited Nepal from February 10 to 18 (Director Yokoi visited
from February 11 and 21) as part of a Science and Technology Research
Partnership for Sustainable Development (SATREPS) program.
